  • I’m sure you haven’t forgot about enabling USB debugging mode. If you haven’t enabled it you can still go into the settings > developer options to enable USB debugging. Don’t proceed without enabling USB debugging. 
  • Download and install the drivers that I’ve given in downloads section above.
  • Connect your Xolo Q800 to the computer using USB cable.
  • Extract the contents of the auto root tool on the desktop. I would recommend you to create a new folder named “root” and put this extracted content inside it.
  • Now, go into this extracted content (possibly “root” folder if you’ve created it).
  • Find the file named “Run.bat” and right-click on it.
  • Tap/Click on the option run as an administrator to open the file.
  • Press any key to continue and let it boot.
  • The phone will take some time for the initial boot.
  • Once it has completed the initial boot, simply restart it.

  • Turn off your device and boot into download mode by clicking and holding volume up+ home+ power buttons till the time the screen is awake.
  • Please download and install Samsung USB drivers before going ahead. Also, put UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25 files in root directory of your phone’s SD card. This means that you should not place it under any folder.
  • Now, connect your device to the computer via USB cable and start Odin (you should have downloaded the same from download section).
  • Check for the ID: COM section. If it has turned yellow, it means that it has detected your Samsung Galaxy Grand. If it doesn’t turns yellow, wait for few minutes or try reconnecting it.

  • Now, once again after the reboot, switch off your Galaxy Grand and press and continue to hold volume up, home and power buttons simultaneously.
  • You’ll see a Samsung logo blinking twice on the screen and after seeing this you can stop holding power button however keep holding volume up and home buttons till the time a list of options is displayed on the screen.
  • You’ll have something written as ClockWorkMod Recovery (probably on the top section of the screen)
  • You won’t be able to use touch screen to navigate inside this recovery and therefore use volume control buttons to navigate up and down, home button to make selection and power button to go back to the previous menu.
  • Now, I’m hoping that you’ve placed UPDATE-Super SU-v 1.00.zip in the root directory of your SD card.
  • Click on the option named – install zip from SD card.
  • Navigate to the root directory using buttons that I’v mentioned earlier and go to the root directory of your SD card to find UPDATE-Super SU-v 1.00.zip file.
  • Select it and if you’re asked to confirm the selection, use home button to confirm.
  • This will begin the rooting process of your Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. Once the rooting has completed, go back to the main settings using power button and select “reboot system now”.
